A Diwali gift: my wife's income tax refund

This #Diwali brought an extra dose of happiness to our home; my wife’s long-awaited #IncomeTax refund finally got processed!

For months, she’s been after me, insisting I must’ve messed up her filing.
I did spend two weekends perfecting mine, while hers took just a couple of hours. Experience Matters!
Ironically, my refund was processed within an hour of filing!

Today, the latest email from the department made her day, and honestly, mine too!

That said, a quick reminder:
- Getting a refund doesn’t always mean everything is perfect with your filing.
- The Income Tax Department can reopen cases up to 3 years later if they find income that escaped assessment (under ₹50 lakhs).

So, yes, while her refund was delayed, the reason may have been simple: her refund amount was significantly larger than mine.
