“Have you ever faced backlash?” Quite often
Recently, a colleague asked me: “Have you ever faced #backlash for your comments here?”
Short answer: Yes. Quite often.
Those who follow me know…
I tend to ask uncomfortable questions, especially to #finfluencers who paint a perfect, risk-free picture.
And understandably, not everyone enjoys that.
The common forms of backlash:
👉 Comments getting deleted - The easiest way to avoid tough questions
👉 Being blocked - Because LinkedIn is largely a “feel-good” platform
And sometimes, it gets more direct.
👉 Messages asking me to take down comments, OR.....
(As if that works 😄)
But there’s one type of response I actually respect.
👉 A healthy disagreement
They defend their view
I question the assumptions
We don’t always agree
And that’s perfectly fine.
In fact, in one such discussion…
The person eventually DM’d me asking if I’d like to join hands.
I had to politely decline.
Not everything is about reach, engagement, or making money.
Because credibility is built on one simple principle:
👉 Say what you believe is right
👉 Even if it’s not popular
