IndiGo never fails to surprise
IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) Never fails to Surprise!
A while back, the Airline faced backlash when their auto seat allocation algorithm separated kids from their parents. After a lot of hue and cry on Social Media, they promised that children under the same PNR would always be seated with at least one parent, even if auto seat selection was used during web check-in.

But now, the policy has changed again!
If a child and an adult are booked under the same PNR, the system now forces passengers to opt for a paid seat selection, completely removing the auto seat assignment option! Yes, every penny counts for the Airline!
What about DGCA rules?
As per DGCA guidelines, airlines must ensure children (up to 12 years old) are assigned seats with at least one parent/guardian on the same booking.
But when an airline holds a dominant position, do such rules matter?
🔹 Is this just another way to push revenue through mandatory seat selection?
🔹 Should airlines be held accountable for such tactics?
🔹 Have you faced this issue while booking your flight?
Recently wrote another post on how the airline has reduced the Armrest size. Got a call from the Airline, stating this is done by the Aircraft manufacturer and they don't have a say in that. A claim I highly doubt is true, but need to deep dive more before I can conclude!
