Flipkart sent a fake product and made sure I couldn't return it
What happens when Flipkart delivers a product that doesn't even have a brand tag and then makes sure you can't return it?

After receiving a fake product without a brand tag, I raised a return request!
The delivery agent never knocked; the Request was closed.
I then contacted #Flipkart customer support.
I was assured that the pickup would happen and that the issue would be resolved.
It didn't.
Again, no one arrived.
And then came the most frustrating part.
The return window expired.
Customer care's response?
“The return window is over. We can't do anything now.”
So let me understand this.
A customer raises a return request three times within the return period.
The pickup doesn't happen.
The system closes the requests.
The return window expires.
And then the customer is told:
“You can keep the product.”
Really?
The biggest question for me isn't even the defective/fake product.
It's the process.
If the customer has raised a return request within the allowed period, shouldn't the return clock effectively pause until the request is resolved?
And if the pickup executive never reaches the customer's doorstep, why should the customer bear the consequences?
So I have a few questions:
What is the quality-control process for sellers?
What happens when a product arrives without basic brand identification?
Why can a failed pickup close a customer's return request?
And most importantly:
Who protects the customer when the system itself closes the door?
This isn't about getting a refund.
It's about trust.
E-commerce platforms don't just sell products.
They sell the promise that if something goes wrong, there is a fair system to make it right.
When that promise breaks, the customer doesn't just lose money.
Maybe the process design is intentional to keep the crown on for being the biggest retailer in the country!
Apparently, this is my second bad experience in the past 3 months with Flipkart! Seems it is time to say 'Sayonara' to the platform...
