Breaking hearts: what premium card returns really take

Let me break the #hearts of the people getting excited seeing the #Return numbers
- First Hurdle - Getting a Premium Card - HDFC Infinia: you need an ITR of over 50 lakhs, and to maintain the relationship, you need to spend 18 lakhs in a year. Can you do this?
- Second Hurdle - Devaluation - Banks can devalue reward points anytime; HDFC Bank has been changing its T&Cs regularly. Sadly, the insurance premium won't. So if you're planning to invest, seeing the Return number today, you would be disappointed in the future
- Charges and Jugglery - Infinia allows only 10k Apay vouchers purchase every month, in addition charges 4% extra. For a 3.5 lakh premium, you need to wait for 35 months, unless you have multiple cards, for which the first hurdle comes into play!
- 30-40 days of free credit - Most funny logic, in context of this post. To accumulate even 1 lakh vouchers, one needs to keep buying 10k vouchers every month and paying the bill on time for 10 months, without actually using them, blocking the capital?

So, finfluencers would keep promoting these stories, since we all love extraordinary returns, without actually understanding the Risks or the process involved!
Finfluencers and their logic!
