Freebies vs education: what the textbooks say

I saw this image on #SocialMedia, and my first reaction was:
"₹8.96 lakh crore on #freebies, and less on #Education? No wonder everyone keeps saying we've got our priorities wrong!"

Then my school textbooks came to the rescue.
Education is on the Concurrent List.
That means both the Centre and States spend on it.
If you're comparing freebies across India, shouldn't you compare total education spending across India too?

So I spent 10 minutes digging deeper.
Turns out, when you combine Central and State spending, India's annual education allocation is ₹10.92 lakh crore.

Suddenly, the story doesn't sound as dramatic.
And that's exactly the problem.
#Influencers want outrage, since that attracts #eyeballs!

If the original image had said:
"Education Spending: ₹10+ lakh crore"
"Freebies: ₹8.96 lakh crore"
Would it have gone #viral?
Probably not.

Because controversy gets clicks.
Facts don't.

We have become "headline warriors."
We trust tweets more than we trust basic logic.
And this doesn't stop at politics; it impacts our money too!
A #finfluencer says, "25% returns", "Real estate always wins", "This stock will be the next multibagger."
We react first and think later.

Remember, "The internet monetizes attention. Your bank account rewards skepticism!"
