“When are the next elections?” Ask your fuel bill

Recently, a friend asked me: "When are the next #elections?"
I said, "No idea. Why?"
He replied,
"Bro, that's directly linked to my #fuel bill!" 😄

I laughed.

He continued,
"Global #crude prices may move every day.
The #Rupee may strengthen or weaken.
But the final decision seems to depend on something even more powerful... the election calendar!"

Whether crude goes up or down...
Whether oil companies make profits or losses...
Whether taxes are cut or not...
Everything somehow starts making more sense when elections are around.

Our leaders tell us fuel prices are market-linked.
The public believes they are election-linked.
Somewhere in between lies the truth.

A funny thought.
One Nation, One Election will improve governance!
But if elections influence fuel prices...
Wouldn't frequent elections mean frequent relief for the common man? 😄
