HDFC Infinia's ₹18 lakh spend threshold rumour

#HDFCInfinia continues to confuse its cardholders.
The latest grapevine?
A steep increase in the annual spend threshold to retain the #CreditCard.
From ₹10 lakh… to ₹18 lakh. That’s an 80% jump!
Else maintain a Relationship Value (RLV) of ₹50 lakh, including average balances across savings, current, and deposit accounts.
Tracking reportedly begins next financial year, with a transition window to align spends or balances.

This comes after the earlier #SmartBuy multiplier reduction drama, which was rolled back following #SocialMedia outrage.

So what’s really happening?
Infinia positions itself as one of the most premium credit cards in the market.
But over time, the base expanded, uncontrolled!
With #Finfluencers and apps like #SaveSage, a good share of users only used the card to aggressively optimize rewards, creating a cost imbalance for the bank.

With these changes, the bank wants to target the real premium customers!
Higher threshold → fewer but more profitable customers.
Higher RLV requirement → deeper banking relationship.
Tighter eligibility → better product sustainability.

If you’re an Infinia holder:
• Will you scale up spending?
• Maintain ₹50L RLV?
• Or move to another premium card?
