Money Minus Noise

When markets rise, they sell optimism. When they fall, they sell fear

A few years ago, when markets hit new highs almost every other month, I remember an #Influencer proudly claiming he kept investing his clients' money even as markets touched new peaks.

Today, markets are under pressure.

Wonder, where those posts have gone?

Suddenly, the narrative has changed.
Move out of equities.
Explore international markets.
Protect yourself before things get worse.
Don't do this, don't do that!

When markets rise, they sell optimism.
When markets fall, they sell fear.

Why?
Because extreme predictions attract eyeballs.
Sensible, boring advice rarely goes viral.

But markets have always moved in cycles.
They will continue to do so.
Recoveries may take time.
Not every investment will recover as expected.
That's precisely why you need a plan, not another prediction.

So, what should a normal investor do?
1. Embrace volatility. If you can't, stick to FDs.
Blunt?
Yes, Equities will test an investor's patience, and investors should learn to embrace them.

2. Understand Asset Allocation.
It's one of the most underrated concepts in Personal Finance.
Decide how much belongs in equity and how much in debt based on your goals, time horizon, and risk capacity.
Rebalance when needed.
You don't need to predict every market high or low.
You need a plan you can stick to through both.

3. Clean up your portfolio.
Over the years, many investors accumulate funds and investments by following every new trend, tip, and prediction.
A market correction is an opportunity to pause and review.

Influencers will keep changing their narratives.
Your #FinancialPlan shouldn't change with every headline.

Understand your goals.
Review your allocation.
Question the advice.
Remove the noise.
That's #MoneyMinusNoise.

If market volatility has you questioning your investments, or you're unsure whether your portfolio still aligns with your goals, feel free to reach out.
Sometimes, you don't need another market prediction.
You need clarity on your own financial situation.
