An 800+ CIBIL score doesn't guarantee a loan

One of the biggest myths in #PersonalFinance is:
"I have an 800+ #CIBIL score, so my #Loan will definitely get approved."

If only banking were that simple.

A founder with:
800+ CIBIL Score! 25-year banking relationship! Successful business!
Reportedly had his home loan application rejected!

Most people are shocked.
I'm not.

Because banks don't approve loans based on CIBIL scores alone.
They approve loans based on #Risk.

For a home loan, some common reasons for rejection are:
1. #Income doesn't support the #EMI
This is particularly common among founders and business owners.
They may have significant wealth, but a low liquid salary.
But banks prefer predictable cash flows over impressive net worth.

2. Existing #leverage is already high
Too many loans, credit lines, or obligations can make a borrower look risky despite an excellent repayment history. In banking terms, the person is 'overleveraged'!

3. Issues with the #Property
The property is the actual security for the loan.
A legal dispute, title issue, approval problem, or valuation concern can kill the deal instantly.

In fact, I've experienced a version of this myself.
I have:
- 800+ CIBIL score
- More than 20 years of credit history
- No delayed payments
Yet several PSU banks won't issue me another unsecured #CreditCard.
Why?
Because I am Overleveraged!

A credit score tells the bank how you behaved yesterday.
A risk model tries to predict how you'll behave tomorrow!

Once you're in the "good enough" zone (750+), improving your income stability, reducing leverage, and maintaining healthy cash flows matter far more.
