Why a small scratch on a car creates a big fight
Why does a small scratch on a #car sometimes create a big #fight?
Recently, someone reached out asking for my views on buying a car.
My advice was simple:
Avoid taking a large #loan for a fast-depreciating asset.
If the budget doesn't fit:
• Choose a lower model
• Consider a good second-hand car
• Wait until your finances improve
His response was interesting.
"Buying a new car is my family's long-pending #dream. I have recently gained employment, and finally I can fulfil it, even if it means taking a loan."
I asked him one simple question:
"Imagine after buying the car, someone brushes against it at a traffic signal. What would you do?"
Without hesitation, he replied:
"I would definitely get angry."
And that answer made me think.
Maybe this is one of the reasons we see so much #RoadRage these days.
Because for many people, a car is not just a vehicle.
It represents years of dreaming.
A major financial commitment.
A monthly EMI.
A sacrifice made by the family.
So when someone damages that car, the reaction is not only towards the scratch.
It is towards everything attached to it.
Cars are meant to make life comfortable.
But when we stretch beyond our means to own them, they can start controlling our emotions!
#MoneyMinusNoise.
Financial freedom is not about owning nothing.
It is about enjoying what you own without financial stress owning you.
