Paying extra to look cool: the iPhone price trap
Are We Paying Extra to Look Cool? The Hidden Cost of iPhones 📱💸

Buying an iPhone? Be prepared to pay more each time you shop! It’s a phenomenon we see everywhere, in the past users have shared screenshots from Food delivery apps, the latest being from eCom major Flipkart, where the same product on Android costs less when compared with an iOS user!
Most of the iPhones in the country are bought by people who can't afford it. It has become a “must-have,” accessory, even if it means stretching, hing budgets, and committing to EMIs for the next 2-3 years, just to look cool! EMIs are addictive in nature, once you are hooked to them, you will keep stretching your budgets for things you really don't need!
It’s common these days to see iPhones being gifted by engaged couples, but if the trend of eCommerce players charging more for iOS continues, the ripple effect on household budgets could be huge.
Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves if “looking cool” is worth the financial strain. Are we ready to pay higher prices for every delivery, booking, or shopping spree? Would anyone of these whom we want to impress come for help, when the debt collectors come knocking?
PS: Till Flipkart or any other eCom player is not doing anything illegal, till they are selling a product above MPR (Maximum Retail Price). Pricing strategy is a complex algorithm, that takes into consideration various parameters and decides the final price shown to the customer. Which phone you use, is just one of the parameters used!
